About Dorine
Dorine has
been a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner since 2008. She is certified
in both Black Sect Tradition
Feng Shui (Western) and Traditional
Compass Feng Shui.
With the
last of four children moving out of their suburban home, Dorine and her
artist husband moved to a Minneapolis vintage neighborhood. Dorine
was thrilled to be able to spread out all her activities in the basement.
Much to her surprise, when they moved into the home, the
"studio" became a media room and the entire basement became her
husband's art studio. Dorine found herself with no place to put her
supplies, equipment, reference material, and books, and worst of all, no place
to work!
She began
sewing, quilting, and scrapping on the dining room table.
Oops! A family dinner was planned. Oops! Where to put
the quilt pieces? Oops! Where to put the sewing
machine? Things began to pile... and pile... and
pile...! The dining room table became so cluttered with stuff
and papers a spot could no longer be cleared to eat dinner. The TV room
became so stuck with unfinished projects, and boxes and piles, it could not be
used. Dorine had no "place" in her own home. For the
first time in her marriage, she no longer had a clean ordered
home. Dorine became overwhelmed with how quickly the rooms became cluttered.
Prior to
moving into this home, she and her husband discussed the use and purpose of
each room. Clearly, the intention did not work.
What resulted were frustration, disappointment, and unhappiness.
Dorine did not even want company to stop by -- too
embarrassing. Something had to be done. Something had to
change! A fortunate conversation with a kindred spirit introduced Dorine
to the energy of Feng Shui and international Feng Shui expert Carole
Hyder.
Dorine began
her studies in 2006, under Carole Hyder and the Wind and Water School of
Feng Shui in Minneapolis, Minnesota, certifying in the Black Sect Tradition in
2008. She then went on to study with Roger Green, and New York
School of Feng Shui, certifying in Traditional Compass Feng Shui in the spring
of 2010. Wanting to go deeper and learn more, she took and completed a
series of Graduate Masters Level Training Programs in 2010, 2011, and 2012,
once again studying with Carole Hyder.
To complement
her Feng Shui practice, Dorine received a Diploma in Aromatherapy Master
Aromatherapist, from The American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2012.
